Guys these days like to groom themselves and it’s important that they have the right products to take care of their daily skincare needs. I already posted on the kinds of products that they need to use on a daily basis.
Today, I am adding something that men have to deal with since their adolescent age… shaving. Just what should men look for in a shaving foam and after shave gel?
Shaving Foam
The guys need a rich, lightweight shaving foam that creates a comfort zone between the razor and the skin, allowing for a clean, close shave. Their shaving foam should leave their skin feeling soft and smooth. The foam needs to surround and cling to each whisker to help reduce razor irritation.
There are certain key ingredients that help to provide a wonderful shaving experience for the guys; basically, ingredients that smooth and condition the skin. Glycerin and lanolin are great ingredients that not only help smooth and condition the skin, they also add, attract, and/or retain moisture, which is an important key to having youthful looking skin. Glycerin and lanolin gently soften the skin and beard for a smooth, close shave, without irritating the skin. Cucumber extract (cucumis sativus) and aloe barbadensis leaf juice are soothing agents that have calming and soothing properties. The help soothe the skin during shaving and protect against razor irritation and burn.
The guys should use this shaving foam over wet, cleansed skin prior to shaving after cleansing their skin with the face bar and before they put on the after shave gel.
After Shave Gel
An after shave gel should be considered the finishing step of shaving. It helps combat
the localized dryness and dull-looking skin that can come after shaving. Our guys need a gel that shields their skin against razor irritation as well as soothes, cools, and leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturized. Apply the gel to the skin after shaving.
Key Ingredients for this gel should be glycerin and aloe barbadensis leaf juice which moisturizes, conditions and soothes the skin as mentioned above. The after shave gel should also contain allantoin, a conditioner that improves the appearance of skin and facial hair.
